Student Council

  • Leaders are not born but are made by experience in life.’ At S D Heritage Pride, the Student Council and the leadership programme facilitates expand robust management capabilities by giving students a devoted area to share their opinions in the running of the school.
  • Members of the prestigious Student Council are drawn through fiercely contested elections, who then are given the opportunity to work with staff and students.
  • The Student Council members are given the responsibility of looking after student welfare and making plans of thrilling activities. Suggestions from students are taken are taken under consideration and provided to the faculty personnel regularly.
  • To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to provide them a experience of executive body , a school prefectural is formed. The school officially entrusts responsibilities on the ‘young leaders’, who donning the mantle of accountability also pledge to bestow their duties honestly, sincerely and to the best of their abilities.

Selection Process & Timeline-

  • Round 1: Interested students will need to provide their names to respective class teachers and give presentation (Time – 2 mins.) on allotted topic in front of the whole class .
  • Round 2: Selection by the Teacher Committee.
  • Round 3: Interaction with the Management Committee.
  • Round 4: Investiture Ceremony of Student Council.

Framework and Formation

The SDMS Student Council is composed of students from different grades, ensuring equal representation across the school.

School Captain

The students’ leader from Class XII oversees council activities, coordinates with faculty, and leads council meetings.

Vice - Captain

The students’ leader from Class XI assists the Captain and takes on leadership duties when required.

Class Representatives

Elected members from each class who bring forward ideas, suggestions, and concerns from their peers.

Prefect

A school prefect maintains discipline, assists teachers, organizes events, supports students, and upholds school rules and values.

Electoral Process & Guidelines

The election process at SDHPS is designed to be transparent, fair, and democratic, encouraging student participation in school leadership. Students who wish to join the council campaign by presenting their ideas and plans to the student body. The Captain and Vice Captain are selected through a vote by both students and teachers, while Class Prefects and Class Representatives are chosen by a vote from the teachers only.

Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony is a proud moment in school, where student leaders are officially entrusted with responsibilities. It symbolizes leadership, dedication, and service. Newly appointed prefects take an oath to uphold school values and inspire their peers with integrity and commitment.
